Welcome to Living Simply!

Living simply is a choice that people all over are making for their own personal reasons. For my family it was a combination of things, beginning with my desire to leave my full time job to stay at home with my son. When I was about seven months pregnant I knew in my heart that I didn’t want to leave my son everyday, but it didn’t seem possible to quit my job. I prayed, talked to my husband and obsessively tweaked our budget every way that I could think of to make ends meet. It took six months, but I was finally able to leave my job and become a full time mom to my little boy.

We had to cut back , learn new ways of managing our money and discover different ways of stretching things and making do. I was so afraid that we wouldn’t be happy, but I knew for sure we weren’t happy with the life that we had when I was working full time. What we have discovered is that we are closer than ever, happier than ever and my husband and I both agree that we wouldn’t go back to the life that we had when I was working no matter how tight things may get.

In this blog I would like to share with you what I’ve learned along the way, things I’m still learning and tidbits of our daily life as well. I’m expecting a new baby boy within the month so it’s an incredibly exciting time for us right now. Whether you are want to stay home with your children, are trying to pay down debt, need to save money, or are just longing for a simpler way of life I hope that my blog might be a blessing to you.
